Mornings start with a walk on the banks of the San Diego River. It is a way great way to be surrounded by nature without leaving the city. Our team and students noticed that there was a garbage problem and decided to do something about it. In came our city clean-up effort. Now students have the opportunity to clean up our city while enjoying the beauty it offers.
What do you see? I see purposeful movement, internal motivation, life skills, fine motor development. But there is more magic than meets the eye, I also see citizenship values, self-advocacy, living the power of changing your city through action. Values! values! values! We can change our cities for the better!
